How to get here?

By Car
From the City, use the Riverside Expressway and head towards Toowong along Coronation Drive. Go straight ahead (past Toowong Shopping Village and at the Caltex service station) turn left into Sir Fred Schonell Drive - this will take you to the main entrance of the University. Go straight ahead at the roundabout at the entrance to the campus. Turn left into Blair Drive, and then at the University Swimming Pool turn right into Union Road, we are located at the end of Union Road.

Parking
Parking is free on the weekends.  During the week short term parking is available close to the Schonell either in the small car park behind, or at the UQ Centre.  Ticket machines are available (these machines do not take notes or 5c pieces).   For more information on parking see our links below.

Special Needs Parking/Lifts and Walkways
Disabled parking bays are located in the car park behind the Schonell.  There is a lift (located in the stair well) from this car park to Level 3.  Entrance to the Schonell from this level can be made via a walkway. Go through the glass doors to the right of the Pizza Caffe counter. If you are visiting Cinema 2, please see our staff at the Candy Bar (or at the Pizza Caffe) who can direct you to the walkway leading to Cinema 2 from Level 2.
A walkway is also located at the front entrance to the Schonell (at the end of the cul-de-sac to the right).

By City Cat
The City Cat is an easy and convenient way to get to the Schonell. You simply need to take the ferry to the University of Queensland (the final stop before the City Cat turns around to go back into the city). The ferry stop is located across the road from the University Swimming Pool and from there we are just a 3 - 5 minute walk up the hill, at the end of Union Road.

By Bus
There are numerous buses that travel to the University Campus.

From Adelaide Street in the City (stop 16) you can take the 412 Express to the University. This service takes you to the main bus stop at the University is located at Chancellor's Place. From there walk east through the Great Court (look for the large sandstone building with the expansive grass and tree covered area at the centre) towards Campbell Place (about a 5 to 10 minute walk). Once you reach Campbell Place you should see signs pointing to the Schonell. We are about a 1 to 2 minute walk from Campbell Place.
Alternatively from Adelaide Street you can take the 409 to UQ Lakes.  From the lakes its a lovely stroll by the lakes (about 570m) to the Schonell - follow the signs to the Schonell from this stop.
